Patron Saint of the poor and cooks
St Lawrence gave away his wealth to the poor in the city of Rome. He did this to not get arrested for being a wealthy Christian Deacon. When the Emperor Valerian heard of this, he demanded Lawrence to bring him all the wealth. He brought him the true wealth, the poor people of the church. Valerian was raged and executed Lawrence for the stunt.
