Imagery and Representation: Represented as a Dominic friar with a book, cross around his neck, and a skull lying at his feet. Hand carved in Maple wood and hand painted by professional artists. Made in Italy. Antony was born in 1389 in Italy and entered the Dominican Order at sixteen. Despite his age, he was soon charged with the administration of multiple houses of his order in Rome, Florence and Naples. Before being consecrated Archbishop of Florence in 1446, he served as a vicar of the Congregation. The people loved him for his energy and will in fighting against the plague and an earthquake that took place in 1448.

Biography of St. Anthony of Florence:
Anthony was born in 1389 in Italy and entered the Dominican Order at the age of sixteen years. Despite his young years, he was soon charged with the administration of multiple houses of his order in Rome, Florence and Naples. Before being consecrated archbishop of Florence in 1446, he served as a vicar of the Congregation. The people loved him for his energy and will in fighting against the plague and an earthquake that took place in 1448. Anthony died in 1459 and Pope Pius II conducted his funerals.
