Patron Saint of Koblenz

Castor originated from the region of Auqitaine. He was a pupil of Maximinus of Trier and later became ordained by him. After his ordination, he decided to dedicate his life to God and to lead an ascetic life with a few companions such as Saint Potentius and his two sons. Castor von Karden died around the year 400 in Karden an der Mosel in Rheinland-Pfalz.
