Biography of St. Elisabeth with roses:
St. Elizabeth had a short life. After the death of her husband, the wealthy king Louis IV, she decided to settle in a modest house in Marburg, where she led a life of extreme penance and intense love forgoing food and sleep. Elizabeth donated all her money to build a hospital in honor of St. Francis of Assisi. She worked in the care of the sick until the last breath exhaled at the young age of twenty-four years. It is noteworthy the miracle of the bread turned into roses. It is said that one day Louis saw her as she ran with her apron full of bread for the poor. When he asked what she was carrying, Elizabeth dropped her apron, and instead of bread appeared magnificent and fresh roses.
