Eulogius was a smart deacon who soon became priest of his hometown. He wrote several scripts about the martyrdom of Christians during the Muslim reign in Spain, for which he was arrested by soon after released. He was named archbishop of Cordoba. But, before being consecrated he helped a virgin named Leocritia, daughter of a noble family of the Moors who converted to Christianity. He hid her and kept her, but they were caught and sentenced to death.

When did St. Eulogius of Cordoba live: in the ninth century

Biography:
Eulogius was a well-educated young deacon who soon became priest of his hometown. He wrote several scripts about the martyrdom of Christians during the muslim reign in Spain, for which he was arrested by soon after released. He was named archbishop of Cordoba, but before being consecrated, he helped a virgin called Leocritia, daughter of a noble family of the Moors who converted to Christianity. He hid her and cared for her, but when they were discovered, both were condemned to death by decapitation.
