Biography of Mary Crescentia Höss:
Mary Crescentia Höss was born with the given name Anna in 1628 in Kaufbeuern. Since she had no dowry for marriage, she was accepted into the convent of the Franciscan Sisters. In the monastery, she had important tasks until she was elected to mother superior. She led the monastery so successfully that its existence was secured for a long time. Her reputation spread rapidly. Many people traveled to Kaufbeuern in order to obtain her advice. After her death, thousands of people made ?u8203 pilgrimages to her tomb. She was canonized in 2001 by Pope John Paul II.
