When did St. Rose of Lima live: in the sixteenth century
Biography of St. Rose of Lima:
Rose was born in Lima in 1586 as tenth of thirteen children of a noble Spanish family. She helped her family with great efforts when they had financial problems, she was in charge of the housework. She absolutely admired and adored St. Catherine of Siena, that is why she became a nun of the Dominican Order. Her mother's house was gradually transformed into a hospice for the poor, children and abandoned elderlies. The she decided to lock herself in a room of only two square meters to dedicate herself to the Lord. Apparentely she had mystical visions. Later on, she was forced to move to the domicile of the noble Maria de Ezategui, where she died in 1617.
