Patroness of florists
St Rose was born in Lima in 1586. She was the tenth child of thirteen in her noble Spanish family. She helped out her family through a trying time financially by keeping up with the housework. She admired and adored St Catherine of Siena. She soon became a nun of the Dominican Order because of St Catherine. She transformed her mother's house into a hospice for the poor, children, and abandoned elderlies.
The she decided to lock herself in a room of only two square meters to dedicate herself to the Lord. Apparentely she had mystical visions. Later on, she was forced to move to the domicile of the noble Maria de Ezategui, where she died in 1617.
