Biography of St. Silvia:
St. Silvia was born in Rome around 520 a.D. into a humble family. She had two saint sisters and in 538 a.D. she married the senator Gordiano who was related to a noble roman family. St. Silvia had two sons, the firstborn Gregory became pope in 590 a.D.. When she was a widow she retired and she dedicated her life to the poor and the sick and passed her time praying and meditating. St. Silvia died in 592 a.D. and was buried in the monastery of St. Andrew. Pope Gregory ordered to paint her image on the tomb.
