Biography of St. Waltraud:
Waltraud comes from a family of the Merovingian royal line from which many saints emerged. She was married to Count Vincente Madelgarius and had four children, St. Landricus, S. Medelberta, S. Adeltrud, and S. Dentelin. After her children were all grown up, Waltraud got separated from her husband and founded a benedictine abbey in Mons, of which she became the first abbess. She was buried in the Gothic abbey church of Sainte-Waldru, where she is still remembered nowadays.
