When did Blessed Gisela of Hungary live: 985- 1065

Biography:
Bl. Gisela was born as the daughter of Henry II, Duke of Bavaria and probably raised by a bishop. In 995, she married King Stephen I of Hungary and had a son with him. Gisela had great influence on the conversion of the Hungarians. After the death of her husband though, she had to leave Hungary and moved to Niedernburg in Germany where she joined a nunnery and became abbess. She died in 1065 and was buried in Niedernburg. Her grave has been a famous pilgrimage site and a chapel dedicated to Gisela was build Veszprem, where she had lived in her youth.
