When did Mary Faustina Kowalska live: 1905 - 1938
Biography:
Mary Faustina was born in 1905 in Poland as the third of ten children. At the age of twenty, she entered the Order of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy which took care of neglected young women. Due to her poor education, she was assigned duties in the kitchen and in the garden. According to tradition, she had visions of Jesus which she recorded in her diary named "Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska". Her messages of Mercy sparked a great movement focussing on the mercy of Christ. She did in 1938 in Krakow, Poland, and was canonized by Pope John Paul II.
