When did Saint Gilbert live: 12th century AD

BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Gilbert of Sempringham was born around 1083 in England. He came from a wealthy family and received an excellent education. Instead of pursuing a secular career, St. Gilbert chose the religious life and became a priest. He founded the Gilbertine Order, which admitted both men and women - an unusual structure for that time. Despite many challenges, the order grew and gained high prestige. St. Gilbert was venerated for his humility and ascetic life. He passed away in 1189 at an advanced age.

St. Gilbert is the patron saint of England and the Gilbertines.

Because the statues we list are hand made and painted in Italy by Italian artists, we custom import your statue from Italy for you.  We generally have weekly bulk shipments of statue orders being sent from Italy.  Once you order a statue you can generally expect it to arrive in about 3 weeks, allowing for international and domestic shipping times.
