Biography of St. Simon:
The bible, where he is mentioned multiple times, describes St. Simon as one of the Lord's brethren. He followed his brother James after his death, and became bishop of Jerusalem. When a civil war broke out, because of the rivalries between Jews and Romans, the Christians followed St. Simon in a town called Pella where they found rescue. After the destruction of Jerusalem, they returned to their city until the total distraction under Emperor Hadrian. According to the Bible, the church flourished at that time and many Jews converted to Christianity. St. Simon was brought before Atticus and accused of being a Christian, and later crucified.
