Biography of St. Anastasia:
St. Anastasia was a noble Roman lady baptized in her infancy. She is known for her extraordinary works of charity. She had been forced to marry a rich pagan named Publius. When her husband discovered that St. Anastasia was a Christian he became very cruel and treated her like a slave. St. Anastasia spent her time helping the Christian prisoners and she converted many pagans to the faith. She was shut up in prison with the aim of starving her, but miraculously she continued to live without food. Eventually St. Anastasia was conducted to the island of Palmarola where she was burnt alive.
