Patron Saint of Antioch, Cyprus, against hailstorms and invoked as peacemaker

St Barnabas was a Christian named Joseph who was born in Cyprus. Barnabas and Paul the Apostle went on many missionary journeys, converted many and participated in the Council of Jerusalem. In Acts 14:14 he is named an Apostle, and Paul mentioned him in his epistles. It is believed that Barnabas died a martyr in Cyprus. He is the founder of the Cypriot Orthodox Church.
