St. George Slaying Dragon Statue Model

This is a very detailed hand carved wood statue. The follow-through in detail is amazing. Sizes less than 22" are carved in Mountain Maple Wood, 22" and up in Linden Wood, holy wood (lt. sacrum lignum). St. George is usually depicted as a soldier in a suit of armor or chain mail, often bearing a lance tipped by a cross, riding a white horse, often slaying a dragon. In the West he is shown with St George's Cross emblazoned on his armor, or shield or banner.

St. George is the Patron Saint of England and Catalonia, Spain.
