BIOGRAPHY:
Saint Joachim is known in Christian tradition as the father of the Virgin Mary and thus the grandfather of Jesus. Together with his wife, Saint Anne, he lived in Jerusalem and led a devout life. According to tradition, the couple remained childless for a long time until an angel announced the birth of Mary to them. St. Joachim is a symbol of patience, trust in God, and devotion to family. His name means "God raises up," emphasizing his divine calling. Although he is not mentioned directly in the Bible, his veneration has been widespread since early Christianity.
