Saint John of the Cross Figurine Models

Imagery and Representation: shown as a Carmelite friar with a book and cross. Hand carved in Maple wood and hand painted by professional artists. Made in Italy. John was born as the third son to a family of weavers in 1542. After being educated at the Jesuits-college, he entered the order of the Carmelites and was later ordained. John was captured by some friars of his order, because he wanted to renew the rules of his order. He was tortured and blamed for false accusations and couldn't attend mass anymore. Fortunately, thanks to the guidance of the Holy Virgin, he escaped to a convent of Theresa of Avila. Later on he became rector of the college in Baeza and the prior of a monastery in Granada. St. John of the Cross is also known for his writings.
