Biography of Saint Joseph Freinademetz:
Joseph Freinademetz was born in 1852 in Badia, Italy. After his theological studies in Brixen he was ordained in 1875 which allowed him to preach to the community of San Martin de Tor, a town close to his home. Although he was a very appreciated priest, he always felt the calling to be a missionary. Therefore, moved to Steyl (Netherlands), where he was trained as a missionary. In 1879, he was sent to Hong Kong where he lived for 2 years. Afterwards, he moved to the southern region of Shantung where he converted many people to Christianity. Joseph Freinademetz died of typhus in 1908.
