Symbols and Imagery: shown as an abbot wearing a simple religious gown and abbot's crosier. Hand carved in Maple wood and hand painted by professional artists. Made in Italy. Landelin was born in 625 in Vaux, Belgium. He was a former criminal converted to Christianity when one of his burglar-colleagues was murdered. In 650, he founded a monastery at Lobbes in Hainaut - Lobbes Abbey. He did this to make up for all the criminal actions he had committed in the area. Later on, he also founded Crespin Abbey as well as the Aulne Abbey. Landelin died on the 15th of June in 686 and his relics can be visited in the Crespin Abbey.
