Landelin was born in 625 in Vaux, Belgium and was a former criminal who was converted to Christianity when one of his burglar-colleagues was murdered. In 650, he founded a monastery at Lobbes in Hainaut - Lobbes Abbey. He did this to make up for all the criminal actions he had committed in the area. Later on, he also founded the Crespin Abbey ad well as the Aulne Abbey. Landelin died on the 15th of June in 686 and his relicts can be visited in the Crespin Abbey.
