Biography of St.Lucy:
St. Lucy, virgin and martyr, was a young noble Sicilian devoted to Christ, who decided to donate all her having to the poor and to renounce the marriage. Her fiancé denounced her, St. Lucy was imprisoned and finally beheaded in Syracuse around 304 a.D.. The legend tells that her eyes were torn out and that she restored them herself. Since the Middle Ages this credence influences the portrayal of St. Lucy
