This is such a beautiful statue of St. Faustina. By including a picture of the Divine Mercy adds so much to the statue and makes it an inspirational piece of art! Represented as a nun with book in her right hand and image of the Devine Mercy as painted under her guidance in her left hand.

St Mary Faustina was born in Poland in 1905. She was the 3rd of 10 children. When she was just 20 years old she entered the Order of the Sisters of Our Lady of Mercy which took care of abandoned young women. Because she had a poor education growing up, she was assigned duties in the kitchen and the garden. According to tradition, she had visions of Jesus which she recorded in her diary named "Diary of Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska". Her messages of Mercy sparked a great movement focussing on the mercy of Christ. She did in 1938 in Krakow, Poland, and was canonized by Pope John Paul II.
