Saint Meinrad of Einsiedeln Figurine Models
Portrayal and Imagery: Shown as a monk with a simple religious gown, cross around his neck, and breadbasket at his feet. Hand carved in Maple wood and hand painted by professional artists. Made in Italy. Meinrad entered the Monastery of Reichenau at the age of five and was ordained as a priest at twenty five. In 824, he became a teacher, but decided shortly after to live as a hermit. Meinrad was famous for his austerity. He was murdered by two robbers who he had hosted in his hermitage and had offered them bread.
