Patron Saint against the death of children
St Melania was born into a great family. She was forced to marry Pianianus who was 17 when she was 13. Both of their children died shortly after birth. Since Melania almost died after the second birth, the couple decided to become abstinent. Melania's husband became more and more religious. Melania sold everything they had to free slaves and to help the poor. After several pilgrimages, the couple moved to the Holy Land, where Melania lived as a hermit after his death.
