Saint Paschal Baylon with Monstrance Figurine Models
Portrayal and Imagery: Represented as a monk with a crook, cross around his neck, book, and a monstrance as a symbol for his love for the Blessed Sacrament. Hand carved in Maple wood and hand painted by professional artists. Made in Italy. Paschal Baylon was born into a poor farmer's family in Torre Hermosa, in Aragon. In his youth, he spent his life as a shepherd for his father. During this time it was soon discovered Paschal could perform miracles. He became a Franciscan lay brother in 1564, after having had a vision which told him to enter the Franciscan comity. Paschal Baylon spent the rest of his life as a faithful doorkeeper who lived a very humble life. Paschal Baylon died in a monastery in Villareal and was canonized in 1690.
