nuns, for rain, against thunderstorms and lighting, against cramps
Scolastica was born in Italy. She is the sister of Benedict Nursia. She consecrated her life to God when she was young, following in the footsteps of her brother. She entered the monastery in Plombariola, which was only 5 miles away from the monastery of St Benedict. The siblings would gather at least once a year and talk about spiritual matters. During one of the visits, Scolastica asked her brother to stay one more night, he refused. So she prayed hard for him to stay and a thunderstorm came that caused him to stay one more night. This was the last time the two saw each other, because St Scolastica died 3 days later.
