It is said that St Sophia was a widow from Milan. She traveled to Rome, where at the time Christians were being persecuted, because she wanted to suffer and die for Christ. St. Sophia gave birth to three daughters named; Pistis, Elpis and Agape. These names meant faith, hope and charity respectively. Saint Sophia died as a martyr during the Traianus empire.
