St Teresa was a leader in the Counter-Reformation of the Catholic Church. She is one of the 33rd Doctors of the Church. She was completely paralyzed from a mysterious disease, which caused her to retire to the convent. She miraculously regained her motor functions at the convent.She was inspired by Jesus to reform the Carmelite Order. She died on the day, when the first countries of Europe passed from the Julian calendar to that Gregorian.
