St. Vincent was born at Huesca and lived in Saragossa, where he served as a deacon. During the persecution of Christinas under the Spanish governor Dacian, he was captures together with Valerius of Saragossa. While Valerius was banished, Vincent was tortured to death. According to the legend, he was burned on a gridiron and roasted. He did not die until he was thrown into a prison and his friends prepared a bed on which he died.
