Biography of St. Zita:
St. Zita was born in 1212 in Tuscany and worked as a servant in the Fatinelli household where she was mistreated and exploited. Nevertheless, she showed love and respect for those who wronged her. Finally, her employers recognized her good heart and charged her with all the affairs of the house. Her goodness gradually converted the Fatinelli family to Christianity. She managed to get up every morning to attend mass and to help the poor, in spite of her hard work. She often donated food and generous gifts to the sick and poor. At her death in 1278, she was acclaimed as a saint.
